Victoria Simpson
Red Rock 14-1
Hi! My name is Victoria, I was born in Redwood City and raised in Sunnyvale, so I’ve lived in the Bay Area my entire life. I am currently a student at De Anza College majoring in biology. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music and exploring new places with my friends.
In elementary school, I attended several Stanford volleyball camps and that is where my love for the sport began. I recently graduated from Homestead High School in Cupertino. There, I made the varsity volleyball team my freshman year, and during my senior year, I was chosen as one of the captains. This taught me how to be a leader and bring a team together towards success. That same year, our team went undefeated in the league and made CCS. I also won several awards my high school career such as All-League and MVP. I played indoor volleyball at Red Rock for 7 years and I was a coach at the summer camps in 2023. Volleyball has been a major part of my life for many years. It has helped me grow into the person I am today, I have met so many amazing people, and I have made friendships that I know will last a lifetime. I cannot wait to continue my coaching journey at Red Rock!

Rachel Sanchez
Red Rock 13-1
Hi! my name is Rachel and I’m from San Jose. I started taking volleyball camps around the age of 8 and quickly found a love for the sport. I began playing club volleyball in middle school and am still playing now! Red Rock has been my home for 4 club seasons and will continue to be my home through coaching. I attended Leigh High school in San Jose where I played varsity volleyball my sophomore - senior years, unfortunately not getting to play my freshman year due to covid. Throughout high school I learned so much playing with older, more advanced players as an underclassman, such as an important part of the game, leadership. I gained many accomplishments during my high school career, some being “first team all league” 3 times, and “libero of the year” my junior year! After recently graduating from Leigh High School, I am currently playing and attending West Valley College in Saratoga, hoping to transfer and play at a 4 year college. I can’t wait to pass down my volleyball knowledge to younger players!

Ultimately, Lawrence emphasis is to teach athletes to enjoy the process of learning and growing as a person each day. Lawrence teaches his athletes If they can wake up each day and strive to be just a little better than the day before, that is the path to growth and greatness. Over the long run a little bit each day adds up to massive achievements. Teaching athletes the technical skills of volleyball is a difficult process, but showing athletes the life skills necessary to achieve great things through empathy, integrity, teamwork, and loyalty is even a greater achievement. It is the creating of relationships and friendships that make a great team and connecting and performing is where memories are lasting. There are many mistakes along the way, but at the end of the day, if athletes, coaches, and parents make it through the struggle and tough times by not quitting, everyone comes out together stronger in the end.
In his spare time, Lawrence loves to travel with his wife and two daughters. Countries visited: UK, France, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Norway, Italy, Monaco, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Switzerland, Costa Rica. Lawrence favorite part of traveling is the food and finding fantastic places to hike in each country. Above is a pic of Lawrence hiking around the Eiger which is located in the Bernese Alps overlooking Grindelwald, Switzerland.
